They seem to running a check point going out of Korat noth bound past the BigC on a regulare time now.

My brother in law got caught at the same place I got caught at the weekend and got away with a 2k fine. The policeman told them he needed the money as his wife has cancer

I don't want to start a war here but all of the people who drink just one beer and drive ought to get to know what it's like to lose one of their loved ones or family to a person who has drank alcohol or taken drugs and drove a car. That and only that brings it home. Think about it.

You are totally right Allan and we probably all agree here. When I was a kid in Canada, I remember that laws weren't so strict about DUI...After some advertising, changing laws and mentality, the situation got better. Much better.

We live in Thailand and many laws are not applied. Corruption is here and I did not, and I believe no one here, intented to say: go ahead, drink and drive and you can get away with it. I would be much more afraid of Thai drivers than Foreign drivers...and this is not a racist remark. It's the way that education, prevention and security is taught to foreigners and Thais.
