Hi
I may be spending the last week of August in Korat. I know it's the rainy season, but my girlfriend is being a bit vague about the weather. Just how wet does it get?
Thanks
Nick

That's because the weather can be vague in August. It's unlikely that it will rain very often, but when it does it will be very wet Shocked Shocked Shocked Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

It's possible that in one week you will not see any rain at all.

There are some weather reports available on line. I use Google as my home page and there is one there that you can keep right in front of you.

Statistically speaking, August is one of the really rainy months. Sadly, not all rainy seasons begin at the same time, rain the same amount, or end at the same time. It may rain every day, or it may not rain at all. There is a greater likelihood of rain than not, in my opinion. But this past hot dry season we got rain very frequently, and almost no really hot days, so who knows if this rainy season will behave like a proper rainy season?

The rain started really early this year but seems to have eased off for now, but you never know whats going to happen, August 3 years ago was flooded everywhere.
I would prepair for a lot of rain and if you dont get it then lucky you....  Wink
If your in doubt then come january or febuary its cooler and skys are clear and nice nearly every day....   Wink

Thanks for the replies. Looks like we're heading down to Samui instead.

I am not sure about Korat City, but here in Wang Nam Khieo over the festive season it was bloody cold. One morning my car wouldn't start it had been such a cold night. There are a few houses around here with chimneys which I thought strange, but after two very cold snaps over the last three years I am beginning to think I should have had one built for a roaring log fire. Crumpets anyone?
