I am looking to do a extension in the coming months, presently theres six of us living here, plus a few chickens and ducks, and the odd moss.ie or two, unfortunately theres no loo so we just have to take a number 1 or two a little bit away from the house as depending on which way the wind blows it can get a bit niffy from time to time, showering arrangements are in the pond not more than fifty metres away, cooking water well this depends on one of the guys no to far from us he has a well, and depending how much whiskey laos he has consumed, we can steal it whilst hes asleep.

I must say i prefer to live rustic it has a certain charm about it, its a bit like a camping holiday though on a permanent basis living under the stars has its plus side it bring a true family spirit theres no need for tvs dvds, computers well i enjoy i realise its not for everyone but its what we like.as you may see to the left of the photo, thats are kitchen a little cramped but its ok when you get used to living in small spaces.

well i hope you like my home and i will share some more photos with you all, as the extension is being built.

Mr DDB why a role of the eyes, surely going Eco friendly is a good move, living with nature has many positives, i do realise that looking at our home is not as impressive as many of the other homes here, though its home and the way of future generations living a subsistence life has many benfits. i will share some eco friendly tips in the near future

Good for you thm!

You have plenty of trees to hug. Also, every time you guys take a dump in the woods, you're not only fertilizing the soil but possibly providing a semi-nutritious meal for the local stray dogs.

Think of it as doing a service for both mankind and the animal kingdom.

Just beware of any "city slickers" that come nosing around with rifles as I hear Khao Phad Spotted Owl is a local delicacy.

My future development i have had planned for the last couple of years, has been a log cabin based on the old Mexican style homes, the ones in a U shape, we planted eucalyptus a couple of years ago for the construction, we also bought a plot of land that also had euca on which were a couple of years old, so i will be in the near future possibly raise the land and compacting it, so will keep you informed as time goes on.

Thank you Ray not sure if you have noticed but my name is Handsome Man you must be mistaking me for someone else on another forum i do know that are mispelling and punctuation resemble each other.

Yes i do have plenty of trees to hug and talk to, when taking are dumps we have two methods of disposal one being putting it into a rat trap which i am sure you are aware rice rats a big mothers, and when caught in the trap, provide a nutritous meal for the wife on holds family, neither my son or i indulge, the other way is it is put in a big container and mixed to a pulp, (i let my wifes gay brother do this as he is used to stuff from the rear) and then we used it to fertilize the vegetables.

I will keep a eye out for the city slickers thanks for the tip.

Handsome Man, I can't see your house in the picture! I can only see the garden shed. Is it just me?  Shocked

I like your shed though. It looks very eco friendly - in a modern kind of way. You've used a lot of old wood (recycled by the looks of it); recycled corrugated iron for the door; natural lime, silica, iron oxide, and alumina (from local limestone, I hope) mixed together with gravel, sand and water (to form concrete), no nasty electricity but lots of fresh air and healthy foliage around. The only thing I can see that spoils the whole eco thing is the blue plastic bucket. You really should get rid of that Handsome Man; get yourself a green plastic bucket to match the grass and leaves, or an earthy brown one to match the color of the driveway. I think I saw some at Home Pro in the Mall on special offer this week only.

Thanks for sharing. Look forward to you posting the main house pic soon.  Smiley

And now mr colombo private d-tech

Not sure if your remarks are disparaging or not but i shall let them go this time but only once, regarding the blue bucket you seem to wish write a whole chapter about it happens to be a ice bucket, now i understand why you were a morris dancer in your younger years, but thank you for your comments, ye are right no electricity in sight such nasties not welcome on the range.

Holy ....  What a dump.  You don't actually live in that place?  That's an outhouse.  I know, because I recognize it.  You don't even have the money to provide for decent accomodations yet you claim to have the money to hire a hit man to kill me?  Wow.  Show me.

I think the joke is one you Kal as Handsome man has been taking the piss with this thread. That ain't his house. Cheesy Grin Grin Grin
