Im going back to the U.K.for a short holiday at the beginning of Oct. Assuming the new airport is open does anyone know if there will be a bus from Korat to the new airport or will it be into Morchit and then across Bangkok.Ive already been to T.O.T. and as usuall got very little sense.

I have heard ( on another forum ) that there will be a direct bus to Korat from the new airport . There was no mention of a bus from Korat to the airport . This would be very good to know for sure but I guess it's too early .

They will have a high speed train, 200 Kmph for Korat !  Grin

In just ten years from now  Wink, so for october  Huh

Some asked for same but dunno really what to believe yet !

The taxi ride will be my choice as usual , should be 1500 thb to 2500 thb max if the driver is fair and me not as usual...

Anyone gone from Korat to Suvarnabhumi recently? I'm going in a couple of weeks. I plan to just bus to Mor Chit as usual and then take a taxi to the new airport.

Is there an easier or better way?

Sorry i do not know this answer, just a bit off it !

I am just coming back from this new airport and as i just left for a few days took my car and parked in the long term park spaces...

On the way there i saw a beautifull new huge bus station just outside the airport, i think they have shuttle buses from airport to there, but then where for this buses leave and where they come from is unknown, most probably Korat is on the list !

You should ask at the bus station in town, would be glad knowing this also...

Regarding the long term car park, zone A is open and to far by foot, it is still free of charge as the fences are not yet finished and worst the shuttle bus is not yet existing properly... they took us by electric car, from the car park until a bus shed, and from there you wait a crowded bus of airport employees .... not most convenient with luggage and family...

Click on the link below to see a list of buses that go to the airport.
As far as I can see the only one that MAY go through Korat would be the one to Nong Khai. If it doesn't then it will mean changing at Morchit.

You should take a shuttle bus to transport center and then take a bus Morchit( 50 bath) and then bus to Korat 212 bath. Last week I take a taxi from airport to Bkk and then Korat 2100 bath (asking directly from airport to Korat 2500-3000 bath). From Sukhumkvit to Korat taxi 2000 bath

As Archimed says and going by the brochure I have in my hand at the moment.
Route 825
Sonofabitch-Korat-Khon Khaen-Udon-Nong Khai
Tel: 021329111 Public transportation centre

I presume they stop at the same places on the return leg

Also spotted this one

Route AE4
Sonofabitch - 99 hotel (didn't know you could park a bus there) - Department of livestock ( I'm sure livestock is slang for somehthing in the UK or Aus)- Siam Discovery centre ( never been, but I'd of thought if you get off at the previous 2 stops then you would have discovered quite a bit already)- Maboonkrong (to buy some clothing for your lady before sending her to school at) -  Chulalongkorn University (while you stay at the) - Mandarin Hotel (and then finally to) - Hua Lumpong Railway station to catch the train to Korat.

G'day Pompui,

Re: Department of "Livestock."  I think you mean "Agriculture" which is usually the name used for farming industries, and includes cattle etc.

Here in Australia we use the titles   1. Department of Land and Agriculture.   2.  Dept of Primary Industries.

There are others such as Dept of Fisheries. etc.

Cheers.

It actually says on the brochure 'department of livestock'.
When I said it was slang for something I meant a place full of a cetain sex of human being.
I must point out that although I have heard this term I have never used it.
