I've been following this thread with interest. Thanks to the OP for starting it.

Kasikorn seems to have a good reputation as to customer service, being farang friendly and for their account access. Has anyone had any issues regarding transferring funds from a UK Bank, or Off-Shore Bank to their Kasikorn accounts?

I have read somewhere that many Thai Banks charge for ATM transactions/withdrawals if not made at the branch the account is with. Is this actually the case or just a fallacy.

my experience with Bangkok Bank is that ATM transactions in the same province are free but withdrawls from another province cost 30 baht each I think ... stupid nonsense rule since it is computerized anyway but all banks worldwide are  rip off artists so why should it be different here .... also ALL banks charge 150 baht for international withdrawls (except AEON - still free) .. I get charged $5 Cdn in my branch in Canada and then another equivalent to $5 here in LOS

I am seriously considering switching to Kasikorn .... I live in Pradok near Makro ... anyone have a branch near there to suggest or is the Mall an okay branch?

I have used The Mall branch seems ok...when I transfered from Pattaya to here I use the one across from IT Centre...very pleasant people....

I use First Direct in the UK and if I transfer money I just phone them up and off it goes, if I do it one day it is in Kasikorn normally the next day and I check it is there online. I have done it many times all with no problem and it is quick. Kasikorn make no charge. When I lived in Thailand I also had an offshore account with Nationwide in the Isle of Man and transferred funds to Kasikorn with no problems.

I do a 4 weekly transfer from Lloyds to Kasikorn and kasikorn charge me 400 bahts each time to receive my money

i transfer from offshore and uk banks to k-bank and the cash normally now hits my account 2 days after it leaves uk/isle of mann.

send monday am by telebank/internet from uk/IOM and get it wednesday.

never had a problem.

cannot say the same about bkk bank who have taken as long as 5 days to have my cash available and the record holder the siam commercial who when lived in samui, took a week to receive the funds but they were "in bkk" and then a further 2 days to get it to the branch in koh samui - work that one out!!

I have done many transfers from the USA to Bangkok Bank and it is always there the next day.  I submit the request on Monday night and it's in Bangkok Bank Tuesday afternoon.  Never had a problem.  Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

All banks in thailand are the same in that respect. When you use an ATM from another province, you are charged a commission.

Kasikorn charge 10 baht commission for withdrawals from ATMs outside the province.

I have never heard of the Express Option and there is nothing like that on the form that I submit to my bank.  So, it must be a Normal transfer.  My bank said that any request that they get by 11 a.m. will be sent out before 3 p.m. the same day.  About 2 years ago when I opened my account at Bangkok bank,  I asked them about transfers and they said that any transfers that they receive in the morning will be processed the same day.  BTW, the time difference between my bank in the USA and here is 12 hours.
