Good Doctor in Korat?

We're looking for a good doctor in Korat if he/she exists. My partner has an infection and has been seen by doctors and three hospitals and all three doctors wanted to cut him open without even doing any tests. He was cut open and Maharat (scary) and the infection has not eased despite the surgery and antibiotics. Government insurance only covers public hospital visits unfortunately but I did take him to Bangkok hospital to see a surgeon and he wanted to cut him open as well. No swab of the infection, no ultra sound, just cut. My partner is Thai so we don't need a bi-lingual doctor, just a good one! Appreciate any help you can give us.

This is of course very frustrating.
I wonder if there is a post surgery diagnosis?There must have been tissue and fluid taken during that procedure.
I think you have the right for looking into that report.
On the basis of that report/lab diagnosis you should be able to discuss with doctors AND check on Internet for information.

Yes, Dutch, very frustrating. After spending the day at Maharat, I have my doubts about any tests but I will make sure he calls the hospital and check. Thank you.

i know the bangkok hospital in korat has had mixed reviews in this forum, but i have used them in samui and recently in pak chong for myself, my wife and my son and had very good service from capable doctors.

I have had very good medical treatment at Fort Suranaree Hospital (Army Hospital) in Korat!!! I go every other month for my medicine and see the same doctor every time who speaks very good English!!! They also have good Dental Care with my Dentist speaking very good English!!! Bring a Thai speaker with you to get registered, but after that no problem!!! Prices are very good and much lower than Bangkok Hospital!!!

Thank you both for your replies. I did try Bangkok Hospital in Korat which had treated me fairly well in the past but don't believe that my partner got good enough treatment. I'll try to get him to go the the fort hospital and even perhaps try to get him to get him down to Bangkok to find some better care. Again, thank you!

If you can provided more detail I can help you find proper doctor. To give you some idea when body get infected generally if cell did not die, it can be cure.  However if cell start to die and decompose, it must be remove otherwise infection will spread into different systems.  After remove dead infected tissue, antibiotic will be used and not a lot of thing for cure the root causes because main objective is to stop spreading andcontrol parameter first.  When things stbilized then internist can perfrom diagnotic to cure the rootcauses and treat accordingly.
