Looking good charles,im on my second home now(need more space)its not easy organising everything,I speak some thai, but still have communication problem ha ha.cant help with carpenter, only electricians.I had quotes to build the house 500,000 up (no materials) then my wife bumped into an old schoolfriend, she chatted away for ages,i said im getting bored listening,my wife replied in english, shut up her husbands a builder,(smiles all round)that evening we went to their home, plans an all. quote under 250,000.He writes down what materials he wants,we run around and get the best deal, pay for it,and its delivered.the new home is not far so we are there everyday, the roof goes up this week.Ive watched every move and cant fault them.we estimate finished job under 1 mil.with c.pac monia roof, same uk style.house size approx 16 mtrs x 12 mtrs. so it can be done.regards thiga.

here are a few photos, looks like the bricking of the walls are coming around, i see where they are stopping about a meter up and pouring a tee shaped concrete strenghner,, never seen a house built like this,,crazy,, but looks good, they are building something to put the water tank on in the back corner of the wall,, not sure how that will turn out and not even going to ask about it, they have cleared the garage out and did something,,looks like they made another pour,, or maybe some sealer,,the backside if you look at the photo where they still have the timbers holding the beams about up, that area is the laundry room and some storage, i after i backfill all around the house i think i will put a deck out there for hanging clothes,,there is no beam in the corner holding the beams up,, short of strange,, something needs to hold it up,,or maybe strong enough,,
why she has name all about toliet i don't know,,i need tell her she ting tong,,

Well i just off of skype with the wife and she says "Noon very serious today all about house" i love it when she talks like that, anyway she is headed back to the house and change the windows in the master bedroom, she saw a pic in a magazine, so with that said, the wood floors are on order as of yesterday and 2 week delivery,,,, some real good news thanks Birdiman Jerry who he got from Koratwonderer is i got the informaiton for a carpenter from him who he got to do his wood work, kitchen cabinets, closets, etc.. the wife called him up and he is very happy to come out and take a look in 2 weeks, come up with some drawings,,it will be quite a bit more expensive, double,  but i got to thinkng about it and the stuff from DO HOME just wasn't doing it for me,,real wood, hand crafted,,excellent, and helping out the carpenter and giving him and his family some income,  there bricked up to the windows and more in some areas, suppose to get a few more workers on thursday,,other than that i am halfway thru my rotation with 4 weeks left,,maybe not able to move in when i return but still real excited about seeing it face on,, take care all

i am waiting on some updated photos of the progress today from the wife, but as it looks they are working on the bricking, the extra help we were promised won't come until the 15th now instead of the 11th as promised, looks like it will be one more rotation with the inlaws,, anyway, i decided to post some photos of the pond while i wait,, in order to build up the area for the house i need some soil, so i decided to dig a pond in the back just next to the Kings land, did and it was good size for me, but no water,, waited and even with the rain,, but on the bottom of the mountain,, or big hill to me,, the water collected when it rained heavy just on the borderline of the Kings and our land so i had some boys come out and dig a trench and borrowed some of his water, i don't think he missed it, i will do this every rainy season, now she had a 5" PVC line put in the ground and covered up,,loaded it with 400 catfish and here you go,, fish fry soon,,

Ok
well today the wife went to Korat Do Home and picked up the front doors that were delivered from Bkk and bought her PE and sprinkers and drippers, tomarrow she will have some workers planting 600 papaya trees, plants whatever,, and other sorts,,on the house, progress on the bricking looking better, kitchen and 1 bedroom about finished, and looking good on the rest,,maybe 4-5 more days on that, she found a girl in Nong Rong that is going to do the curtains and drapes, i told her to wait for me get back on this, i don't want any wild colors,,,her papa is in the window buisness,, but he is dragging his feet on giving me a price, i feel some penetration on this, i told her to call her grandfather who just had a house build and find who he used, i want a fringing price,,this will also include front sliding glass doors,, she just had to have,,on the window,, you will notice in one shot for the other back bedroom that the windows are not going to be the same because of concrete beam up right ,, it will look strang but have to live with it,,Photo 104 right side of photo,, this is what happpens when you not there,, i think i would of had 3 window maybe spaced, one in between the 2 beams in the back then center one and the other same space from beam on left of room,, she is doing a great job so i can't fault her,,

Charles

I have just ordered 3 windows 3.5 x 3.5 metres, a sliding door 4 x 3.5 metres, 5 windows 3 x 2.5 metres, a standard size glass door and 7 windows .80 x 2.5 metres for a total installed price of 83,000 Baht.

I checked out the guys work at our local Amphur and at a local temple and it is of a very good standard.

i had another quote on the windows and it was higher,i guess i guess i will go with the first quote and get it finalized, ,,more workers coming in on Monday,, we will see if that happens, i would assume that they will start the roof soon,, then the ceiling and renduring of the walls,,and electrical,, as of yesterday the whole house was bricked except the bathroom and liveing room area,, i see they put the door jams in on the bedrooms and also the sliding glass doors are being framed, home in
