I'm looking at the SCB website, and all the currencies has taken a dump.  Looks like the Baht is very strong. Shows the dollar at 32.53, and the pound at 48.75.

Barry, the dollar has been hovering the 32.50 to 33.50 for several months now, however the Euro and The Pound have gone down and according to the British Press it is expected to go down more. Shocked Cry
I hope there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The pound has been taking a battering due to the threat of a hung parliament, Brown getting in again and not addressing the deficit quickly enough. Up a little today but only 49.35 to the baht accourding to Reuters.

The 70 baht to the pound days are long gone I'm afraid.

Hey Kieth,
I think your correct. Looks like  the currencies might divert back to 1997.

For brits, there is a lot to be said for being paid in local currency right now.

If I had moved here in 2006 with fixed british pension I think I would be a bit concered at having lost 22b on ever pound I spent. thats almost 1/3 less for every pound Shocked although on the up side, if you had move here then And bought cars and what not, you could sell them and buy sterling and it would have been a virtually free ownership!

Back to the garden though... My god, is it ever gonna burn some calories!

I think our American friends were having a hard time a year or two ago and have adjusted.

I get paid in USD, convert it to GBP and then Baht, so I'm not doing too bad at the mo.

Loz, Just spin the 4 x 4 round the garden a few times and everything should be good, or am I missing something here.
