Calling all Korat Single riders!!

Join us won't you for the second inaugural run of the Single cylinder motorcycle club! Last time we took a ride that straddled Highway two and a shared observation was that we should explore more of the smaller road/tracks. So with that in mind I am opening up the floor for suggestion.

A prize for the winner who can offer us a scenic and interesting route from Joho to "the other side of the tracks". The survivors of the last expedition enjoyed a hearty meal at Coffee Pitini and I would be happy to conclude this second voyage at the same point. So lets see if we can find another circuitous route there.

I know even the member who suggested this venue ultimately decided it was to far to ride so with this fear of riding 20km from home I am offering all members a few handy tips on how to make sure your bike is up to the job. (see below).

I just did a ride through a nice spot the other day. There's an old Khmer ruin not so far out from Joho. I think it's called Pranom Wan. It'd be a good place to take a break, and the countryside is pretty nice around there.

I know that place very nice.  pass there once a week with my no engine bike that goes as fast as my legs feel

ps
another nice road for motor bike is going to lum pra plung Damp going and return from jorhor should be about 120+ km.  There are route that we can go along side with the cannel.  I am going there this week end but with my no engine bike.  If not too tried may be will take some picture along the way.  Any of you guys got bicycle and wanna join, we are gathering in front of saveone market 6:30 hit the road 7:00am.  Van is available for anyone that feels like their engine burn out or need support or need to service your bicycle.  Finish full trip should kill off about 2000+ calories.  we do stop once in a while for refil your stomach.  Service van will block the left lane so we have proper protection on highway.

Anyone can join Sua Tao Tawee Pol Cycling Team (meaning Tawee Pol Old Man Cycling Team) so we are not that fast our route generally start from Night plaza intersection in the city.  Heading to suranaree industrial park direction, turn left at intersection with the road to Tachang, going about 10 Km turn left at Ban Yong Yang.  Follow the road and we will pass Panomwan Ruin follow the road about 2-3 kilometers turn left at the road leading to nakornratchasima city follow the road at the end we will be at Mittrapap road.  Turn left cycling 1 km arrive Jorhor.  turn left again and keep on going pass ratchamonkol universtiy and we will be at the city again.  One round about 36 Km.  Crazy dude in the old gang wag it in about an hour, mostly finish in about 1:20 minutes.  Going out Mon-Fri 5:00Pm

Banlang, That's some going for a bunch of old guys. I can barely do that speed on my bike and I fall off after 15K. Are you using mountain bikes or racing bikes.

usually Gang of old guys (Thawee Pol Cycling Club) being 38 I am the youngest.  The oldest in the group is 70+.  Average running arround 52 krub.  So if you feel up to it and want to reduce some lipo related med well come to join krub.  36Km is tough one because no service car but we always stay on the road.  For longer distance is the most easiest one because you can get in to van sit arround until felling better and can join the gang at anytime.  Or feel want to just sit back and done for the day also OK.

MTB or RB all OK krub.  We are generally stay on the road.

Have a good time at Panomwan na krub.  Good little place for visit krub.

i know how to get there but don't have map. from jorhor intersection heading toward Kornkean, panomwan will be on the right hand side of the road.
I think it is just about 1 km from intersection on the right hand side there is a small road, if keep going on small road about a couple of Km we will be passing rail road.  Follow the road for about 1 km on the left there is a Thai Wat turn left there.  Follow the road to the end there is 3 way streets.  Turn left will lead you back to mittrapap road turn right and keep going about 1-2 km Panomwan is dead ahead krub.

Sorry I don't know the name of the road because I cycle on that route never really ask anyone about it.  If you keep going this raod that lead to panomwan will eventually end at the highway that will take you to Tachang krub.

Just got back from Lum Pra Plung Damp.  Nice road krub total distance for this trip is 90Km krub very nice road not even a bump.  Great for cycling and even better with motor bike.  No picture krub because I was too tried to get camera out.

Have a good time na krub.

Hi Loz, have a look at the link that Isaan Lawyer posted, there's a GE placemark on there. You folllow the road out past Palm Garden to Ban Pho (about 5km), then turn right at the crossroads in Ban Pho. It's about 1km down that road.

thanks guys!

So if we head out that way we just need a scenic route to get us down across town and out towards Sura Nari University of Technology. (Destination: Dinner!)

Maybe hua tale, and up around the back of the Army base? little roads... Undecided

If I was closer to Korat I would certainly have the crack but I'm 90kms away which is a bit too far for me on a m/c......
