Dear Prospective Member,

Because of recent spamming activity on the KF board, I have had to set the registration method to 'approval'.

This means when you sign up, there will be a slight delay before your registration is complete because I need to personally hit the approval button for your sign-up.

As soon as possible, you will have full access and be able to post away....

PLEASE NOTE: also as an anti-spamming policy, any new accounts that do not post an entry into the 'New Members First Post' section (or elsewhere as appropriate) maybe subject to deletion at any time.

Best regards

It's sad that this has become necessary. I suppose the measure will be a challenge to some trolls but it will also be a deterent to others. Sad also, isn't it, not merely that some people feel the need to attempt to damage that which others have created, but that they are proud to do it. They are powerless individuals who cannot create, only destroy, cannot manage adult relationships and are driven to attempt to disrupt those of other people. And, of course, they have no courage because they never reveal their true identity.

However, these creatures are insignificant. We might feel angry and hurt for a while after reading their insults but tomorrow we shall foget them. It is the trolls who are left with their bad feelings, not us.

I'm only a member of a few message boards but they all have the same problems with spammers and trolls as soon as the boards become more popular. Unfortunately, it's one of those things that all moderators have to deal with and I'm sure new members will be perfectly understanding of the slight delay when signing up.

I have only just joined this board and I fully support the moderators in their task. I was impressed by how friendly this board is, and remain so, despite the misguided attempts by another newcomer (or not) to hijack the ambience of this site.  Keep up the good work!   Smiley

Do we have or can we have a list of members of this forum posted on this forum somewhere?  Broken down by those who actually reside in Nakhonratchasima, those who reside in Thailand but outside of Nakhonratchasima and those who only visit and live else where.  To be identified by their Forum Name only, or simply as a member if they do not want to use there forum name.

IMO I think it would be a good idea.  Why, for example:  Why ask some one a question on pm if he only visits or has never been here. Better to pick someone who is a resident.  Or, if you only visit and live outside of Thailand, you would most likely ask questions of people who like your self only visit and travel a lot.  Maybe I am carzy, however, I think it is a good idea. What you think?

Mitchell,

At the bottom of the main page is a list of members. It includes any personal information that they wish to disclose. Remember that what is on the board can be viewed by anyone anywhere in the world, member or not. Most people are careful about what information they disclose about themselves. However, you will be able to see from some of a member's posts whether he or she is a resident of Korat. Also, don't assume that members who don't live full time in Korat don't know anything about it.

It is quit an action to go through the memberslist and open each account.
In the topic:where are you from, you will read that about 45% of the voters are from the region and I mean that they are living here.
Many of who you call the visitors do have a respectable knowledge of the area.
Most of them are planning to stay here definitively, some of them very very soon already.
You will see that the percentage of residents will increase in time Grin

Is there a member stop Huh

I noticed that since 26 August last, the number of members are sticked to 220.
In the early days there were dozens of member applications daily.
(Most of them to be deleted after a few days.)
Has the procedure changed??
